Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship - The Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship is an annual award given to students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and have exhibited a commitment to community service. Established in 2021 by the family of Patricia Frist, a beloved educator and community leader, this scholarship is intended to assist students in pursuing their educational dreams and goals. Each year, one high school senior from the Greater Nashville area is chosen to receive the scholarship.

Eligibility and Requirements
The applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is a resident of the Greater Nashville area. The applicant must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale and must have demonstrated a commitment to community service through volunteer activities. The applicant must also demonstrate financial need. All applicants must submit the following materials in order to be considered for the award: a completed application, official high school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a one-page essay outlining the applicant’s educational and career goals.

Selection Process
The selection of the recipient of the Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship is made by a committee of teachers, administrators, and community leaders. The committee considers the applicant’s academic achievement, commitment to community service, financial need, and essay. The committee also evaluates the applicant’s leadership abilities, work ethic, and character.

The Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship is a one-time award in the amount of $2,500. The award is paid directly to the student’s college or university for tuition and related expenses. The recipient of the scholarship is also presented with a certificate of achievement at a special ceremony.

The application deadline for the Patricia Frist Memorial Scholarship is March 15th of each year. The recipient of the award will be notified by April 15th. Applications are available online or by contacting the Scholarship Coordinator at the Greater Nashville Education Foundation.
